What Is Teams Phone?

Teams Phone turns Microsoft Teams into a full cloud phone system — replacing your traditional PBX with call queues, auto attendants, voicemail, call transfer, and music on hold.

Key capabilities:

  • 📞 Make/receive calls via Teams desktop, mobile, or IP phones
  • 🔀 Call queues and auto attendants
  • 📱 Voicemail with transcription
  • 🔄 Call transfer, park, and forwarding
  • 🎵 Music on hold, call recording

⚠️ Teams Phone ≠ PSTN. Teams Phone gives you the software PBX. For actual phone numbers and PSTN connectivity, you need a Calling Plan ($8-15/user), Operator Connect, or Direct Routing (bring your own SBC).

Frequently Asked Questions
