1. Can I use Outlook without Exchange?
Yes — the Outlook desktop app is included and can connect to any IMAP/POP email provider (Gmail, etc.). You just don’t get Exchange Online.
2. Is this the same as a standalone Office licence?
Similar, but this is a subscription (monthly/annual). The benefit is always-current apps with cloud updates, plus 1 TB OneDrive.
