Frequently asked questions

The Azure interview questions I hear most often from people prepping for their first Azure role — what’s actually asked, what’s a waste of time to memorise, and how to use this 100-question list without burning out.

Who is this 100-question list aimed at? #

Mostly people sitting Azure admin (AZ-104) or architect (AZ-305) job interviews — the video focuses on infrastructure, networking, identity, governance, and pricing. Less aimed at Azure developers (AZ-204 / AI-200) and not aimed at data engineers (DP-203). If you’re prepping for a developer or data role, use this as a baseline for Azure fluency questions but supplement with role-specific lists.

Where can I download the full 100-question list? #

Free download is on ko-fi.com/aguidetocloud/shop — same place all my downloadable interview packs and study notes live. You can tip if it’s been useful (entirely optional). If you want the structured study version, the AZ-104 and AZ-305 cert-tracker pages have the full skills measured and Microsoft Learn links.

How recent are these Azure interview questions? #

The video was recorded May 2025, last verified against current Azure portal + AZ-104 / AZ-305 skill updates as of April 2026. Some specific UI screenshots will look slightly different (Azure portal redesigns happen quarterly) but the underlying concepts — VNets, NSGs, storage redundancy, RBAC, ARM and Bicep, Key Vault, Monitor — are stable. Ignore minor UI differences during interviews; focus on the concept being tested.

What's the best way to actually use this list to prep? #

Honest answer — don’t memorise all 100 in order. Interviewers ask for understanding, not rote answers. Pick 20 questions you can’t answer from memory, write a 3-sentence answer to each in your own words, then explain it out loud to yourself (or to ChatGPT / Copilot as a mock interviewer). Repeat over a week. Active recall + voicing the answer is what makes the difference at interview time. Cramming the full list in one sitting wastes most of it.

What other Azure interview resources do you recommend? #

Three I’d actually use: (1) Microsoft’s own Cloud Adoption Framework for landing-zone and governance architecture questions; (2) Microsoft Learn Q&A — what real engineers are struggling with right now (those become interview questions within 6 to 12 months); (3) John Savill’s Azure Master Class playlist for deep architectural foundations.
