Frequently Asked Questions

1. How do I use the Copilot Feature Matrix?

Start with the Compare Tiers tab to see features side-by-side across Free, Chat, Pro, and M365 Copilot tiers. Use By App to pick a specific app like Teams and see its features. The All Features tab lets you search and filter across everything.

2. What's the difference between Consumer and Enterprise in the Compare Tiers tab?

Consumer covers the Free and Pro tiers for individual users. Enterprise covers Copilot Chat and M365 Copilot for organisations. Each section shows a focused comparison so you only see what's relevant to you.

3. Where does M365 E7 (Frontier Suite) fit?

Microsoft 365 E7 — generally available since 1 May 2026 — bundles M365 Copilot at the same feature level as the standalone $30/user add-on. E7 adds Agent 365 (AI agent governance) and the full Entra Suite on top, for $99/user/month. From a Copilot feature perspective, E7 = M365 Copilot. See the dedicated /licensing/microsoft-365-e7/ page for the bundle breakdown.

4. Can I check if a specific feature is included in my Copilot licence?

Yes. Go to the All Features tab, select your app from the dropdown, and use the 'I have this licence' filter to show only tiers up to yours.

5. Is my data private when using the Copilot Feature Matrix?

Yes. The tool runs entirely in your browser with no server calls. Your filter selections and comparisons never leave your device.

6. How often is the feature data updated?

I check Microsoft's Copilot release notes every two weeks and cross-reference with the M365 Roadmap monthly. The What Changed tab shows a timeline of every update with source links.

7. Is this tool still being improved?

Yes — I'm actively improving it based on feedback. If you have suggestions or find a bug, visit aguidetocloud.com/feedback/ — every piece of feedback is read and acted on.
