About the ServiceNow CIS-DF Exam

ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist - Data Foundations (CIS-DF) covers the data layer the rest of the platform depends on: modelling configuration items with CI Class Manager, choosing an ingestion method, keeping records unique through identification and reconciliation, measuring and remediating CMDB health, retiring data with Data Manager, reading the CMDB insight surfaces, and adopting the Common Service Data Model.

This independent practice bank contains 250 original questions aligned to mainline blueprint KB0012913 v12.0. Product behaviour is grounded in ServiceNow’s public documentation for the Australia release. Australia identifies the documentation snapshot, not an exam version.

The questions are original study material, not an official ServiceNow practice exam, an exam dump or a reproduction of vendor sample questions. ServiceNow asks candidates to use its official preparation resources; check the official CIS-DF blueprint alongside this guide.

Who Should Take This Exam?

CIS-DF is for people who implement and maintain the CMDB: defining CI classes and their identification rules, wiring Discovery, Service Graph Connectors, IntegrationHub ETL or import sets into the CMDB, working CMDB health dashboards and remediation, running Data Manager policies, and mapping an organisation onto the Common Service Data Model.

The blueprint lists recommended experience rather than hard prerequisites: familiarity with industry standards, terminology and acronyms; the Certified System Administrator certification; 2+ years of experience with the CMDB; foundational knowledge of the CSDM model; and experience populating data in the CMDB. ServiceNow also recommends completing its preparation training courses. Check the current registration requirements before booking.

Exam Domains & Weights

The official blueprint lists five domains weighted 15/19/35/20/11. This bank follows those weights proportionally, so Govern carries just over a third of the questions, exactly as it does on the exam.

Use ServiceNow’s official weights to plan revision. The practice counts below are an editorial allocation, not a prediction of the questions on an exam.

The blueprint’s listed subtopics are not exhaustive. The official exam also uses drag-and-drop items, which this platform does not simulate; that content is assessed here as single-answer and multiple-select questions instead.

Practice Exam - 250 Questions

The bank includes 198 single-answer multiple-choice questions and 52 multiple-select questions. Each question includes an explanation, reasons the other choices are wrong, a hint, an exam tip, a practical example and a documentation link.

Study Tips

  1. Start with Govern. It carries 35% of the published blueprint on its own, and CMDB health, remediation and Data Manager between them decide most of the exam.
  2. Learn identification and reconciliation as one story: identification rules decide which record you are looking at, reconciliation rules decide which source is allowed to write each attribute.
  3. Keep the ingestion methods distinct. Discovery, Service Graph Connectors, IntegrationHub ETL and import sets solve different problems, and the exam tests which one fits a stated constraint.
  4. Treat CSDM as a modelling language rather than an application. The questions ask where a record belongs and why, not how to configure a form.
  5. Read the documentation linked from each explanation before booking. CMDB behaviour changes between releases, and this bank names the snapshot it was written against.
