About the JNCIP-ENT Exam
Prove advanced Junos enterprise routing and switching on EX, QFX, and MX
The JNCIP-ENT (exam JN0-650) is the professional-level certification in Juniper’s Enterprise Routing and Switching track, verified against Junos OS v25.2. It sits above JNCIS-ENT and validates that you can design, configure, monitor, and troubleshoot advanced enterprise networks — advanced OSPFv2/OSPFv3, BGP path selection and policy, IP multicast, advanced Ethernet switching and spanning tree, Layer 2 authentication, IP telephony features, Class of Service, and EVPN-VXLAN. Our 250 original practice questions are character-driven Junos scenarios with detailed explanations and per-option rationale.
Note: JN0-650 replaced JN0-649 in November 2025. Compared with the old exam it dropped IS-IS, high-availability (GRES/NSR/NSB), and GRE tunnels, and added EVPN. This guide tracks the current JN0-650 blueprint.
Who Should Take This Exam?
The JNCIP-ENT is designed for experienced networking professionals who already hold or are ready for specialist-level Junos knowledge. Two or more years of hands-on Junos routing and switching experience is recommended.
Typical study time: 8-12 weeks of focused study

Exam Domains & Practice-Question Coverage
The JNCIP-ENT exam covers 8 official objective areas. Juniper does not publish percentage weights for this exam, so the practice-question counts below reflect each area’s topic breadth and hands-on depth.
| Domain | Practice Qs |
|---|---|
| Interior Gateway Protocols (OSPFv2/OSPFv3 + routing policy) | 26 |
| BGP (path selection, attributes, communities, load balancing, policy) | 38 |
| IP Multicast (IGMP, PIM sparse-mode, RP, Anycast RP, MSDP) | 34 |
| Ethernet Switching & Spanning Tree (private VLANs, MVRP, Q-in-Q/L2PT, MSTP/VSTP) | 42 |
| Layer 2 Authentication & Access Control (802.1X, MAC RADIUS, captive portal) | 28 |
| IP Telephony Features (PoE, LLDP/LLDP-MED, voice VLAN) | 24 |
| Class of Service (classification, policers, schedulers, drop profiles, rewrite) | 32 |
| EVPN (route types, VXLAN, multi-homing) | 26 |
| Total | 250 |
💡 Study tip: Ethernet Switching & Spanning Tree and BGP are the two broadest areas — build a solid mental model of the Junos BGP path-selection order and of MSTP region membership (name + revision + VLAN-to-instance map must all match) before exam day. Remember Junos-specific behavior that differs from other vendors: a stub-area ABR needs
default-metricto originate a default, and AS-path loop acceptance uses theloopsstatement.

Juniper Certification Path
Juniper follows: Associate (JNCIA) → Specialist (JNCIS) → Professional (JNCIP) → Expert (JNCIE). For enterprise routing and switching, the path is JNCIA-Junos → JNCIS-ENT → JNCIP-ENT.

Study Tips
- Master the Junos BGP path-selection order — local-preference, AS-path length, origin, MED (compared only within the same neighbor AS), EBGP over IBGP, then IGP metric to the next hop.
- Know your OSPF area types cold — which LSAs each of stub, totally stubby, and NSSA blocks, and remember Junos requires
default-metricfor a stub ABR to originate the default route. - Draw the EVPN route types — Type 2 (MAC/IP), Type 3 (inclusive multicast/BUM), and Type 5 (IP prefix) are the most-tested distinctions.

- Simulate exam conditions — use the timed exam mode to practice under pressure.
