About the DCIT Exam
Troubleshoot a modern Cisco data center end to end — network, compute, storage, automation, and operations
The 300-615 DCIT (Troubleshooting Cisco Data Center Infrastructure, exam topics v1.2) is a CCNP concentration exam — pair it with the DCCOR 350-601 core for CCNP Data Center. Passing also earns the Cisco Certified Specialist - Data Center Operations credential. Where DCID tests design and DCACI tests implementation, DCIT tests diagnosis: given a symptom, find the root cause and the fix. It validates your ability to troubleshoot a Cisco data center across five areas: network (routing with OSPF, MP-BGP, PIM, and FHRP (HSRP/VRRP/GLBP); switching with RSTP+, LACP, and vPC consistency, peer-link and peer-keepalive; overlay with VXLAN BGP EVPN — NVE/VTEP, VNI, underlay-versus-overlay isolation; and Cisco ACI packet forwarding — endpoint learning, COOP, contracts); compute platforms (Cisco UCS B/C/X-Series discovery, firmware and interoperability, Fabric Interconnect modes, LAN and SAN connectivity, identity pools, policies, service-profile and vNIC/vHBA templates, and association failures); storage network (Fibre Channel physical links and FLOGI, FCNS, port types N/F/E/TE/NP, NPV/NPIV, VSAN, zoning with the active-versus-full zoneset, device-alias, and Cisco Fabric Services, plus FCoE); automation (EEM, Scheduler, Bash and Guest Shell, Python, NX-API, NETCONF/RESTCONF, Ansible, Terraform, and Intersight); and management and operations (Nexus Dashboard/NDFC, Cisco Intersight, firmware upgrades and ISSU, ACI security domains and RBAC, and first-hop security — DHCP snooping, Dynamic ARP Inspection, port security, MACsec). Original practice questions. Not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sourced from Cisco Systems certification exams.
Who Should Take This Exam?
DCIT is designed for data center operations, support, and network/compute/storage engineers who troubleshoot Cisco data center infrastructure built on Nexus switches (NX-OS), Cisco UCS, MDS SAN, Cisco ACI, Cisco Intersight, and Nexus Dashboard. It suits candidates pursuing CCNP Data Center. Cisco recommends 3-5 years of data center implementation and operations experience. You should be comfortable reading show-command output and diagnosing faults: a suspended vPC VLAN or a Type-1 consistency mismatch, a VXLAN VNI with no remote MACs, an ACI contract dropping traffic, a UCS blade that will not associate, an FC host that cannot FLOGI, a zoneset that was never re-activated, an NX-API call returning 401, a firmware upgrade that faults, or a DHCP-snooping/DAI drop of legitimate hosts.
Typical study time: 6-10 weeks of focused study

Exam Domains & Weights
The DCIT exam covers 5 domains. Focus your study time based on the weights below — higher-weighted domains have more exam questions.
| Domain | Weight | Practice Qs |
|---|---|---|
| Network | 25% | 63 |
| Compute Platforms | 25% | 62 |
| Storage Network | 15% | 38 |
| Automation | 15% | 37 |
| Management and Operations | 20% | 50 |
| Total | 100% | 250 |
💡 Study tip: Network and Compute Platforms are the two heaviest domains at 25% each — start there. On the network side, drill the vPC failure modes (peer-link versus peer-keepalive down, Type-1 versus Type-2 consistency, orphan-port suspend) and how to isolate a VXLAN EVPN fault to the underlay or the overlay. On compute, master why a UCS service profile fails to associate (pool exhaustion, a VLAN/VSAN not on the uplink, a host-firmware-package mismatch) and the Fabric Interconnect modes (Ethernet end-host versus switch, FC end-host/NPV versus switch). Management and Operations (20%) adds cross-plane security — ACI security domains, AAA/RBAC, and first-hop security (DHCP snooping, DAI, port security, MACsec).
Practice Exam — 250 Questions
Prepare for the DCIT with our 250-question practice exam covering all 5 exam domains. Every question is an original real-world Cisco data center troubleshooting scenario — a symptom with realistic show-command evidence — that asks you to find the root cause, the next diagnostic step, or the corrective action, with detailed explanations mapped to the official exam topics (v1.2, current Cisco terminology — NX-OS, UCS X-Series, Cisco Intersight, Nexus Dashboard/NDFC, ACI).
What you get:
- ✅ Exam simulation mode with timer
- ✅ Spaced repetition for weak areas
- ✅ Detailed explanations for every question

Cisco Certification Path
DCIT is a concentration exam. For CCNP Data Center, pass the DCCOR 350-601 core plus one concentration — 300-615 DCIT (data center troubleshooting) is one of four concentration choices alongside DCID 300-610, DCACI 300-620, and DCNAUTO 300-635. Cisco’s track runs: Associate (CCNA) → Professional (CCNP) → Expert (CCIE).

Study Tips
- Split your time between Network and Compute Platforms — both are 25%, and together they are half the exam
- Diagnose, don’t design — DCIT gives you a symptom (a fault, a show output, a syslog line) and asks for the root cause or the fix; practice reasoning from evidence, not memorizing config
- Know vPC and VXLAN EVPN failure modes cold — peer-link versus peer-keepalive, Type-1 versus Type-2 consistency, and underlay-versus-overlay isolation are the highest-value network troubleshooting skills
- Master the UCS service-profile association failure — pool exhaustion, a missing VLAN/VSAN on the uplink, and host-firmware-package mismatches are the classic compute traps
- Trace the FC login path — FLOGI, FCNS, then zoning (active versus full zoneset,
zoneset activate) and VSAN membership isolate most “host cannot see its LUN” cases - Use our practice exam — try the 20 free questions first to gauge your readiness
- Simulate exam conditions — use the timed exam mode to practice under pressure
