About the DCACI Exam

Implement and operate a Cisco ACI fabric end to end — the fabric, the policy model, and everywhere

The 300-620 DCACI (Implementing Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure, exam topics v1.2) is a CCNP concentration exam — pair it with the DCCOR 350-601 core for CCNP Data Center. Passing also earns the Cisco Certified Specialist - Data Center ACI Implementation credential. It validates your ability to implement and operate a Cisco ACI fabric: the fabric infrastructure (the spine/leaf topology, the APIC cluster and Virtual APIC, the object model / Management Information Tree and APIC REST, faults and health scores, fabric discovery, access and fabric policies, and the logical constructs — tenants, VRFs, bridge domains, EPGs, ESGs, and contracts with vzAny and preferred group); packet forwarding (endpoint learning, the COOP mapping database, and bridge-domain settings such as unicast routing and hardware-proxy versus flood); external connectivity (EPG static path bindings, STP interop, MCP, L2Out, and L3Out with OSPF/BGP/EIGRP/static routing and external EPGs); integrations (VMware vCenter DVS and Nutanix VMM domains, resolution and deployment immediacy, and L4-7 service graphs with PBR); ACI management (in-band and out-of-band access, syslog/SNMP and Nexus Dashboard Insights, configuration snapshots, AAA/RBAC, and upgrades); and ACI Anywhere (Multi-Pod, Multi-Site with the Nexus Dashboard Orchestrator, and Remote Leaf). Original practice questions. Not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sourced from Cisco Systems certification exams.

Who Should Take This Exam?

DCACI is designed for data center network engineers, ACI fabric administrators, and solutions architects who design, implement, and operate Cisco ACI fabrics built on the APIC and Nexus 9000 spine/leaf switches. It suits candidates pursuing CCNP Data Center. Cisco recommends 3-5 years of data center networking experience plus hands-on time with ACI — the APIC GUI and REST API, the policy model (tenants, VRFs, bridge domains, EPGs, contracts), external connectivity (L2Out/L3Out), VMM and L4-7 service integrations, fabric management, and the ACI Anywhere designs (Multi-Pod, Multi-Site, Remote Leaf). Note that the retired 300-630 DCACIA (Advanced ACI Implementation) content — including Remote Leaf — was consolidated into 300-620 in the v1.2 update.

Exam Domains & Weights

The DCACI exam covers 6 domains. Focus your study time based on the weights below — higher-weighted domains have more exam questions.

DomainWeightPractice Qs
ACI Fabric Infrastructure20%50
ACI Packet Forwarding15%38
External Network Connectivity20%50
Integrations15%37
ACI Management20%50
ACI Anywhere10%25
Total100%250

💡 Study tip: The three 20% domains — ACI Fabric Infrastructure, External Network Connectivity, and ACI Management — together make up 60% of the exam, so spend most of your time there. Be fluent in the access-policy chain (switch profile → interface profile → policy group → AEP → domain → VLAN pool), the difference between EPGs and ESGs, an L3Out with OSPF or BGP and its external EPG subnet scopes, VMM resolution vs deployment immediacy, a service graph with PBR, and in-band vs out-of-band management with contracts. In ACI Anywhere (10%), know that Multi-Pod uses one APIC cluster over an IPN while Multi-Site uses separate fabrics orchestrated by the Nexus Dashboard Orchestrator (NDO), and how Remote Leaf differs from both.

Practice Exam — 250 Questions

Prepare for the DCACI with our 250-question practice exam covering all 6 exam domains. Every question is an original real-world ACI scenario with detailed explanations and maps to the official exam topics (v1.2, current Cisco terminology — ACI/APIC, Nexus 9000, Nexus Dashboard Insights, Nexus Dashboard Orchestrator).

Cisco Certification Path

DCACI is a concentration exam. For CCNP Data Center, pass the DCCOR 350-601 core plus one concentration — 300-620 DCACI (ACI implementation) is one of four concentration choices alongside DCID 300-610, DCIT 300-615, and DCNAUTO 300-635. Cisco’s track runs: Associate (CCNA) → Professional (CCNP) → Expert (CCIE).

Study Tips

  1. Start with the three 20% domains — ACI Fabric Infrastructure, External Network Connectivity, and ACI Management are the biggest slices
  2. Know the policy model cold — tenants, VRFs, bridge domains, application profiles, EPGs, ESGs, and contracts (with subjects, filters, vzAny, and preferred group) are the language of every ACI question
  3. Use our practice exam — try the 20 free questions first to gauge your readiness
  4. Review explanations — don’t just check if you got it right; read why each answer is correct
  5. Master the tricky knobs — bridge-domain Hardware Proxy vs Flood and ARP flooding, VMM Pre-Provision resolution vs On-Demand deployment, and L3Out subnet scopes are classic exam traps
  6. Use current names — Nexus Dashboard Insights (NDI) and Nexus Dashboard Orchestrator / NDO (not MSO) are the current products
  7. Simulate exam conditions — use the timed exam mode to practice under pressure
